Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Travis — the desktop app, the cloud service, the web dashboard, and any related parts. By signing in to Travis or installing the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Travis.
The short version: use Travis honestly and lawfully. Don't abuse the service, the third-party systems you connect to it, or other users. You own your work. We provide Travis with care, and stand behind it within the limits below.
1. Who can use Travis
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian to agree to these terms on your behalf. K-12 student accounts (when our Education tier launches) will be provisioned only under a district's institutional agreement with COPPA-compliant parental consent.
If you are using Travis on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
2. Your account
Travis requires a Google sign-in to use. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. Tell us immediately at security@usetravis.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You can view and revoke any active session from your settings.
One account per person. Sharing an account between humans violates these terms — use a team plan instead.
3. The software
Travis is provided to you under a license to use, not as a transfer of ownership. You may not represent any copy of Travis as the official product, use our trademarks (the name "Travis", our logo, our domain) in your marketing, or claim affiliation with the operator.
4. The platform — skills, integrations, and packs
Travis is a pluggable platform. You may install Packs (curated bundles of Skills and Integrations) and Travis may use them to operate on your behalf in the third-party systems you've connected.
- You see what each pack will do and what permissions it requires before you install it.
- You can disable any pack at any time from your settings.
- Disconnecting an integration immediately revokes its OAuth token and stops Travis from accessing the related third-party system.
- First-party packs (built by us) are reviewed before they ship. Partner-built packs (when we open that channel) will be signed and reviewed before being listed. We may remove a pack from the catalog if it misbehaves.
- When we open a public marketplace for third-party packs (planned), separate marketplace terms will apply alongside these.
5. Your work
You own everything you put into Travis — notes, captures, conversations, documents, entity graph entries. We claim no ownership of your work.
You grant us a limited license to process your work only as needed to provide and improve the service. That includes: storing your work, syncing it across your devices, drafting on your behalf when you ask, running scheduled workflows you've set up, talking to integrated third-party systems on your behalf, and looking at how the platform is performing in real usage so we can fix bugs, improve quality, and decide what to build next.
What this license does NOT permit us to do:
- Use your work to train an AI model (ours or anyone else's).
- Share your work with third parties.
- Sell your data.
- Use your work for advertising or marketing.
Org accounts can opt out of platform-improvement use of their data as part of their contract. Personal accounts on Free, Pro, and Max tiers participate by default; an in-product opt-out toggle is on the roadmap. See the Privacy Policy for specifics on what platform-improvement use looks like in practice.
6. Acceptable use
See the full Acceptable Use Policy. In summary: don't use Travis to break the law, harm others, misuse third-party systems you've connected, or abuse the service.
7. Paid plans
Paid plans are sold as a monthly subscription. Personal plans are billed to you. Team plans are billed per seat to the organization. Pricing surfaces are linked from the audience funnel on the home page. Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. You can cancel at any time in settings; you keep access through the end of the paid period.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your full card number. Refunds are available within 30 days of the most recent charge if you haven't materially used the service; email billing@usetravis.com.
Every plan has a hard daily cap on hosted-AI usage. We enforce caps server-side so we never bill more than your plan covers — no overage charges, no surprise invoices. If you regularly hit your cap and need more, contact us about a custom plan.
8. Service availability
The cloud service is offered "as-is" without a published uptime SLA on Personal, Pro, and Max plans. We aim for 99.9% availability and report incidents transparently. The desktop app continues to work offline during any service outage; sync resumes when service returns.
Org and Enterprise plans come with a contractual SLA, dedicated support, and custom retention. Contact hello@usetravis.com to discuss.
9. Integrations and third-party services
Travis can connect to third-party systems (LMS, SIS, CRM, productivity tools, etc.) only with your explicit OAuth consent. Your use of any third-party system through Travis is also subject to that third party's terms.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of any third-party system you connect. If a third-party service stops working or changes its policies in a way that affects an integration, we will update or remove the integration but cannot guarantee continuity.
10. Termination
You can cancel and delete your account at any time in settings. We will delete your stored data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for security audit integrity.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law. We will give you notice and a chance to fix the issue, except in cases of clear abuse, security risk, or legal compulsion.
11. Disclaimers
Travis is intelligent software that sometimes produces confident but incorrect output. Travis works hard to be honest about its limits, but you remain responsible for verifying important decisions, calculations, legal advice, medical conclusions, or anything else that has real-world consequences. Don't treat Travis as a substitute for a qualified human in domains where mistakes matter.
The software is provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent allowed by law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to Travis is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
Nothing here limits liability for things that can't be limited by law: gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or anything else your jurisdiction protects.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your work, your use of connected third-party systems, or your violation of these terms. We agree to defend you against third-party intellectual-property claims that arise from your authorized use of the unmodified service.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York.
If you are an EU consumer, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country you live in.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days before they take effect, by email and on this page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
